What You Should Know:

Textbook "Genki I" and "Genki I" workbook required.
For this course, you’ll need to purchase the Genki I textbook and Genki I workbook yourself. These books are essential for your study and progress throughout the course.
(Any edition is fine, as long as it’s Genki I, not II.)

You’ll get homework.
Usually in the form of reviewing the material covered. This is estimated at about one hour per week.

Basic knowledge of Hiragana & Katakana is required.
You don’t need to read them perfectly yet – but if you’re starting from scratch, we recommend first getting our Hiragana and Katakana learning package or doing some self-study.
There’s also Hiragana & Katakana info at the beginning of the Genki book, which you can use.
